About

Two image regimes.
One attentive gaze.

Biography

I work under the name Irénée Terreneuve, moving between photography and generative image-making. These are separate practices, but they continually feed one another.

Photography begins with places I have encountered — coastlines, cities, monuments, trees, weather — and with the particular light that makes them familiar or strange. Generative images take those impressions elsewhere, into imagined sites, parallel archives and histories that do not quite hold together.

Across both bodies of work, I return to thresholds, distant signals, anonymous figures and structures that seem to remember another time. The images stay close to the real while allowing it to slip.

Photographing, editing and generating become different ways of asking what a place can reveal — and what it might still become.
